Udalls Pond - Great Neck NY Project Challenge

Udalls Pond, situated in an urban, upscale neighborhood of Great Neck, NY and the home of the Historic Saddlerock Grist Mill (one of the last remaining historic saltwater grist mills in the Country), is also part of the area’s stormwater management system.

Over the years, the tidal pond filled in so much from surrounding infiltration; it ran dry in many areas during the tidal cycles. This caused concerns for flooding and storm water management. ISSI, contracted through Galvin Brothers, Inc. of Great Neck, NY, dredged, treated, contained approximately 33,000 cubic yards of highly organic, contaminated pond sediment.

Again using the Optimizer System and creatively using several very small areas for lay down (including a local baseball field), successfully completed the project well in advance of the project deadline.
